From The Flight Deck
The story of our Runway Rosé Arizona wine begins right beneath our vines. Long before we planted our first rows in 2019, this property served as one of several dirt runways for the Sky Gypsy aerotrekking club. While their home base was located in Rodeo, New Mexico, these adventurers used our land as a high-desert landing strip to explore the vast Arizona skies.
We named this wine Runway Rosé to honor that original “launchpad” and the history of the land we call home. It is a nod to the aviators who once used this very soil to take flight. Every bottle of our Runway Rosé Arizona wine is crafted to reflect that same sense of precision and commitment required for a perfect takeoff.
Our vineyard is situated at over 4,000 feet in the Willcox high desert. This location acts as the perfect proving ground, where intense sun, cool nights, and mineral-rich volcanic soil allow our grapes to develop the “beautifully balanced fruity flavors” that define the Soaring Wines mission. The high-altitude viticulture here creates a terroir that is as unique as the history of the property itself.
This dedication to quality was recently recognized when our Runway Rosé earned a 2025 Bronze Award at the Arizona Governor’s Cup. Whether you are enjoying a glass at home or visiting us at a wine festival, this rosé represents our flight path from a daydream of high-altitude viticulture to a reality of exceptional Arizona wine. My husband and I recently attended an evening event at the tasting room on historic Railroad Avenue. We sat and visited with friends and listened to wonderful music! The atmosphere was relaxing, conversations were enjoyable, and the choices of wines to sample fantastic! It was just what we needed! We so enjoy the owners and their lovely woman giving samples.
