Aereo Italian Style Red Blend

Aereo Italian Style Red Blend bottle — Soaring Wines, Willcox Arizona

Where Altitude Meets Attitude

Aereo takes flight with vibrant Italian-inspired flair — a handcrafted blend built for adventurous palates.

Balancing bold fruit against smooth elegance, this Super Tuscan style blend earned Best of Class at the 2025 Arizona Governor’s Cup.

Grown at over 4,000 feet in the Willcox high desert, where Italian character meets Arizona altitude.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Deep ruby with garnet edges.
  • The Nose: Ripe cherry and blackberry, with espresso and chocolate emerging behind.
  • The Palate: Medium-bodied and juicy — ripe cherries, blackberries and plums, lifted by espresso and dark chocolate highlights.
  • The Finish: Smooth and warm, the chocolate note carrying through.

Food Pairings

  • Main Course: Wood-fired pizza, tomato-basil pasta, or herbed roast chicken.
  • The Cheese Board: Aged Parmigiano, pecorino, or a soft young provolone.
  • Why It Works: The Sangiovese backbone brings the acidity Italian cooking asks for, while the Zinfandel and Petite Sirah add enough weight for grilled and roasted dishes.

From The Flight Deck

Aereo is the Italian word for aircraft — a name that fit both sides of this wine. It keeps us in the air alongside the rest of our fleet, and it points to the Italian character we set out to capture in the blend. A Super Tuscan style red, grown where Old World structure meets the intense sun, cool nights, and sandy loam of the Willcox high desert.

Taking Best of Class at the 2025 Arizona Governor’s Cup put Aereo among the state’s most decorated blends. It is a result we credit to the ground it comes from: vines planted at over 4,000 feet, where the sun works hard by day and the temperature falls away at night, giving the fruit both ripeness and the acidity to carry it.

Met up with Soaring Wines in Prescott. In love with the Full Throttle Petite Sirah. Dark Sky was awesome too.

My husband and I recently attended an evening event at the tasting room on historic Railroad Avenue. We sat and visited with friends and listened to wonderful music! The atmosphere was relaxing, conversations were enjoyable, and the choices of wines to sample fantastic! It was just what we needed! We so enjoy the owners and their lovely woman giving samples. I highly recommend that folks check them out!
