The Rhône, By Way Of Willcox
Bon Voyage is our Rhône-inspired red — Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the classic southern French trio.
Medium-bodied and smooth, built for easy drinking rather than cellaring.
Grown at over 4,000 feet in the Willcox high desert, where the old-world blend finds new-world sun.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Medium ruby.
- The Nose: Rich black cherry with hints of warm spice.
- The Palate: Medium-bodied and rounded, black cherry carried on gentle spice.
- The Finish: Smooth and unhurried, with the spice easing away.
Food Pairings
- Main Course: Grilled sausages, roast lamb, ratatouille, or herbed flatbreads.
- The Cheese Board: Comté, aged goat cheese, or a mild blue.
- Why It Works: Grenache brings the fruit, Syrah the pepper, Mourvèdre the savoury edge — a combination that suits rustic, herb-driven cooking.

Bon Voyage means “have a good trip” — a name that keeps us aloft with the rest of the fleet while nodding to the French origins of the blend. Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre are the backbone of the southern Rhône, and we grow all three in the Willcox high desert.
This wine first bottled under a generic name — our 2019 Rhone Style Red Blend — and took a Bronze Award at the 2023 Arizona Governor’s Cup before we renamed it. The bottle you see here is a newer batch, made the same way from the same three grapes.

My husband and I recently attended an evening event at the tasting room on historic Railroad Avenue. We sat and visited with friends and listened to wonderful music! The atmosphere was relaxing, conversations were enjoyable, and the choices of wines to sample fantastic! It was just what we needed! We so enjoy the owners and their lovely woman giving samples. I highly recommend that folks check them out!
